impact: knowledge exchange

An understanding of how the morphodynamics of large, continental-scale, rivers modulate sediment transfer has broad relevance for, and crossover with, workers involved in source-to-sink and terrestrial biogeochemical cycling investigations. To promote interdisciplinary cross-over we will in late 2015 be hosting a large rivers workshop for key researchers from the ocean sciences, delta morphodynamics, palaeo-environmental and biogeochemical cycling communities. Our aim is to create a long-term research network that will develop further research proposals centred on understanding how the Asian mega-rivers move sediment from the Himalaya to the Ocean.
